CONOR McGregor is the only UFC fighter ranked in the top 100 highest paid athletes in the world last year.
The list, published by Forbes magazine, ranks the top earners in the world of sport every year, giving their pay, salary, and endorsements.
The Irishman sits in joint 85th place with Eden Hazard and David Ortiz on the 2016 list, with a fortune of $44m (€40.8m) banked in 2016.
The 28-year-old banked $22m in pay, $18m in salary/winnings and $4m in endorsements.
Dubliner McGregor may be the only UFC star on the list, but he isn’t the top Irishman – and he has some catching up to do to pass him out.
Golfer Rory McIlroy is perched in 17th place on the list with $85.2m (€78.9m), almost twice the fortune of the Crumlin fighter.
The Notorious isn’t the top fighter on the list either – a move into the boxing world could bump the UFC lightweight champ up a few places.
Floyd Mayweather is in 16th place pocketing $88m (€81.6m) and Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao placed 63rd for banking $48m (€44.5m).
Co Down native McIlroy is the fourth placed golfer behind Americans Phil Mikelson at $105.8m (€98.1m), Jordan Spieth at $105.6m (€97.9m) and Tiger Woods at $90.6m (€84m).
Top of the list was Real Madrid and Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo with a fortune of $176m (€163.2m), beating his Barcelona rival Lionel Messi who placed second with $162.8m (€150.9m) .
There are only two women on the list – tennis players Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams, the fifth and seventh placed tennis players.
